PAST PROJECTS

BLUE FOUNDATION

Kirstine was founding member, lead singer, songwriter and lyricist in the award winning band, Blue Foundation; from its early inception in 1998-2000 until 2009, when she, along with other members, left, and the band changed character.

Blue Foundation was founded between 1998-2000 in Copenhagen, arising from the collaboration between Tobias Wilner, Anders Bertram and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg. The three had worked together since 1995 in the indie pop band Polytones. After the end of Polytones, Tobias, Anders and Kirstine continued to work together and created the first Blue Foundation tracks such as ‘Hide’ ‘Wise Guy’ and ‘Hollywood’. Soon, they were joined by Sune Martin and shortly after by Tatsuki, Bo Rande and MC Jabber. In addition to these members, a number of other gifted musicians and artists have contributed to Blue Foundation, on stage or in the studio over the years.

Kirstine contributed as songwriter, lyricist, lead vocalist and vocal arranger to the band’s first three albums: 'Blue Foundation’ (2001), 'Sweep of Days’ (2004) and 'Life of a Ghost’ (2007), along with numerous EPs and singles.

The band’s breakthrough came in 2004 with their second album, 'Sweep of Days', for which they received highly critical acclaim along with several prize nominations and awards. Kirstine is the co-composer, lyricist and distinctive voice of Blue Foundation-hit-songs such as 'Bonfires', 'End of the Day', 'As I moved on', and the multimillion streamed 'Eyes on Fire' that was featured on the US Grammy nominated soundtrack for the first 'Twilight’ movie based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels.

Together with Blue Foundation, Kirstine has toured in Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, Japan, UK and Denmark.

An ambitious, artistic expression of modern urbanity (…) A ceremony of the souls, a symphony of sounds and forms and an explosive cacophony bound together by a shared, creative energy (…) a timeless, human sensitivity amidst the clicking, flickering, scratching, dusty prints of noisy patterns of city-sound
